Fourth Health Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 9, 2026 Last updated: August 9, 2026
The short version
Fourth Health is a place for adults to organize pregnancy, postpartum recovery, infant care, and the help provided by a trusted care circle.
- We do not sell personal information.
- We do not use health information for advertising, and Fourth Health does not run third-party ads.
- Information added to a household is generally visible to that household's members. Private Nell conversations and private working plans are exceptions.
- Nell uses information you choose to provide and relevant Fourth Health context to respond. Anthropic processes that information for us.
- You can request access, correction, export, or deletion of your information. Account deletion and household deletion are related but separate decisions.
Our separate Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy provides additional information and rights concerning consumer health data.
Who we are
Fourth Health is operated by Fourth Labs, LLC ("Fourth Health," "we," "us," or "our").
Privacy questions and requests may be sent to support@fourth-health.com.
Who can use Fourth Health
Fourth Health is intended for adults age 18 and older in the United States. Babies and children do not create accounts. Adults may record information about a child when they have authority to do so or are participating at the direction of the child's parent, guardian, or authorized caregiver.
Information we collect
The information we collect depends on the features you choose to use.
Account and profile information
This may include:
- Email address, display name, and preferred name
- Information received from Google if you choose Google sign-in, such as your name and email address
- Preferred language
- Date of birth, if you choose to provide it
- Your household role, care role, and household membership
We do not receive your Google password, contacts, or unrelated Google account information.
Household and child information
This may include:
- Household name and household members
- A baby's name, care stage, due date, or birth date
- Support invitations, including the invitee's name, email address, relationship, status, and secure acceptance link
- ZIP code when you enter one to find relevant local resources
The person who creates or administers a household is not necessarily the mother or birthing parent. Household administration, care roles, and any future subscription-purchaser role are separate concepts.
Health and care information
Depending on what you log, this may include:
- Breastfeeding, bottle feeding, and pumping sessions, including timing, side, and amount
- Sleep, tummy time, diaper changes, and other infant-care activities
- Blood pressure, pulse, symptoms, mood, recovery information, and free-text notes
- Medications, instructions, schedules, and dose logs
- Meals, meal photos you choose to upload, and meal notes
- Appointments, schedules, reminders, and preparation plans
- Educational content you view, save, or complete
We receive only the photos you deliberately select or capture for Fourth Health. We do not browse your photo library, contacts, calendar, or other apps.
Care-team information
This may include clinicians or practices you link to a household, including a name, type, address, phone number, website, and status. Clinic-search terms are sent to Google Maps or Places to return results.
Nell conversations, context, and actions
We store the messages you send to Nell and Nell's replies so you can return to a conversation.
When you message Nell, we assemble relevant context for that request. Depending on the conversation, this may include:
- Baby and household information
- Recent care events and recent breastfeeding records
- Active medications and linked care-team information
- Household-member and pending-invitation counts
- Educational content you saved or completed
- Mood or recovery signals that are private to you or that you explicitly chose to share
- Your current time and time zone
- A private preparation plan when you are using Nell within that plan
- Curated Fourth Health guidance selected as relevant to your question
Nell may also propose an update to a tracker or preparation plan. We store information needed to present, confirm, perform, and audit those actions. Nell conversations remain private to the account that created them. A preparation plan remains private unless you deliberately share the formatted plan with your household.
Technical and usage information
This may include:
- Anonymous page-view, referral, campaign, and deliberately selected interaction information through PostHog, together with a randomly generated browser identifier
- IP address, browser or device type, timestamps, request identifiers, and security or diagnostic logs generated by our infrastructure
- Error, performance, and abuse-prevention information
We configure PostHog without session replay, automatic interaction capture, cookies, or identified person profiles. PostHog stores a randomly generated anonymous identifier in your browser's local storage so we can distinguish repeat visits and measure aggregate conversion over time. Clearing browser storage or using another browser or device creates a new identifier. We do not connect this identifier to a name, email address, Fourth Health account, household information, health information, or private app activity through the marketing-site integration. PostHog and infrastructure providers may still process network information such as an IP address to deliver, secure, and aggregate the service.
Information we do not currently collect
Fourth Health does not currently collect:
- Payment or financial information; the service is currently free
- Insurance or benefits information
- Precise GPS location
- Advertising identifiers or information for targeted advertising
We will update this policy before materially changing these practices.
How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide trackers, schedules, household coordination, education, and other requested features.
- Display household information to people the household has invited.
- Provide Nell responses, relevant context, derived signals, and user-confirmed actions.
- Send sign-in codes, support invitations, and service communications.
- Provide support and respond to privacy requests.
- Protect Fourth Health, investigate misuse, diagnose problems, and maintain reliability.
- Comply with law and respond to valid legal process.
We do not use health information to build advertising profiles or train third-party general-purpose AI models.
Households and the care circle
A household is a shared space for care. A household administrator may invite other adults and remove their future access.
| Information | Usual visibility |
|---|---|
| Shared care logs, feeding, pumping, sleep, tummy time, diapers, blood pressure, and symptoms | Household members |
| Medications, schedules, meal photos, and shared care-team information | Household members |
| Baby information and household membership | Household members |
| Your date of birth | Only you |
| Your Nell conversations | Only you |
| Private preparation-plan work | Only you unless you deliberately share the formatted plan |
| Mood and recovery signals derived from Nell | Only you unless you explicitly enable household sharing |
Inviting someone gives that person access to sensitive household information. Removing someone stops future access but cannot make them forget or delete information they already saw or independently saved.
Household records may include contributions from several people. Deleting an individual account is therefore not always the same as deleting the household or every shared record. Before an account or household is deleted, Fourth Health will explain the effect and, where appropriate, offer a way to transfer household administration.
Nell signals
Nell may create a short structured signal based on a conversation. Signals are intended to summarize a relevant pattern without reproducing chat text.
- The underlying conversation remains private.
- Mood and recovery signal sharing is off by default.
- Household members receive these signals only after the account owner explicitly enables sharing.
- You can turn future sharing off in privacy settings.
Service providers and other disclosures
We do not sell personal information or disclose it for targeted advertising.
We use service providers to operate Fourth Health. They may process information only to provide, secure, support, or legally comply in connection with their services to us, subject to their agreements with Fourth Labs.
| Provider | Information processed | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Supabase | Account, household, health, chat, and uploaded-file information | Authentication, database, storage, and backend services |
| Anthropic | Nell messages, relevant context, and generated replies or action proposals | Generate Nell responses. Commercial API content is not used to train Anthropic's general-purpose models by default. Standard API inputs and outputs may be retained for up to 30 days, subject to safety, legal, or separately agreed retention terms. |
| Google sign-in requests and clinic-search terms | Sign-in and Maps or Places results | |
| Resend | Invitee email and name, inviter and care-recipient names used in the email, invitation content, and secure acceptance link | Deliver support invitations |
| PostHog | Anonymous browser identifier, website page views, referral or campaign information, and deliberately selected call-to-action events | Aggregate marketing-site traffic, repeat-visit, and conversion measurement |
| Vercel and other hosting infrastructure providers | Hosting, request, performance, and diagnostic information | Hosting, delivery, reliability, security, and diagnostics |
We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law, respond to valid legal process, protect a person's safety, investigate misuse, or establish or defend legal claims. Where permitted, we will try to notify the affected person before disclosing information in response to legal process.
If Fourth Labs is involved in a merger, financing, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction. We will provide notice before personal information becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
Children
Fourth Health is directed to adults, and children do not have accounts. A parent, guardian, or authorized caregiver may provide information about a child. Support people may contribute at that person's invitation and direction.
If you believe a child has created an account, contact support@fourth-health.com.
Security
We use safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including encrypted connections, provider encryption for stored data, private file storage, database row-level security, household-scoped authorization, and Google or one-time-code authentication.
No system is perfectly secure. Security protections, standards, and threats also change, so we review and update safeguards over time.
Breach notification
An unauthorized disclosure can be a reportable breach even when it is not caused by a traditional system intrusion. If a breach affects consumer health information, we will provide notices required by the FTC Health Breach Notification Rule and applicable state law, including notice to affected people, regulators, or the media when required.
Retention
We generally keep account and household information while it is needed to provide the service. User-created records remain until an authorized user deletes them, the relevant account or household is deleted, or we no longer have a legitimate need to retain them.
Service providers maintain backups, security records, and operational logs under their retention schedules. After a valid deletion request, information in backups will be deleted, overwritten, or rendered inaccessible and scheduled for deletion. It will not be restored to active use except when needed for security, legal compliance, or disaster recovery.
Anthropic's standard commercial API retention is described in the provider table above. We may retain a minimal record showing that a deletion or legal request was completed when reasonably necessary for compliance and security.
Account and household deletion
You may request deletion through Fourth Health's account controls or by contacting support@fourth-health.com.
Deleting an account removes that person's profile, private Nell conversations, private plans, and access. Shared household records require separate treatment because other members may rely on them:
- A household administrator may be asked to transfer administration before deleting an account.
- Deleting an account does not automatically delete a household administered by someone else.
- Shared records authored by a departing member may remain as part of the household record, with identifying information removed or minimized where appropriate.
- An authorized household administrator may separately request deletion of the household and its shared records.
- Deleting a Fourth Health account does not automatically cancel a future App Store or other third-party subscription; billing cancellation will be explained separately if subscriptions are introduced.
The app will explain the expected result before a deletion is confirmed. Some information may be retained where required by law or necessary to protect security and legal rights.
Your choices and rights
Whether or not a particular state privacy law applies to Fourth Labs, we offer users a way to request:
- Confirmation of whether we process their personal information
- Access to or a portable copy of their information
- Correction of inaccurate information
- Deletion of information, subject to shared-household and legal exceptions
- Withdrawal of consent for optional processing or sharing
- Review of a decision denying a privacy request
Send requests or appeals to support@fourth-health.com from the email associated with your account. We may need to verify your identity and authority over the account or household. We will respond within the period required by applicable law and will not discriminate against you for making a request.
California residents may have additional rights under the CCPA when it applies. Washington and Nevada residents may have additional rights concerning consumer health data, described in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy.
United States service
Fourth Health is operated from the United States and is currently offered only to people located in the United States. Information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate, subject to contractual and legal protections.
Changes to this policy
We will update the date above when this policy changes. If a change materially affects how we use or share sensitive information, we will provide additional notice before the change takes effect when reasonably required.
